Special Content: The Nonlife Zoo

According to IUCN-The International Union for Conservation of Nature, of the 35,771 animals of major taxonomic group, including mammals, birds, amphibians and 22 other groups, some 759 species are listed as being Extinct or Extinct in Wild, meaning there is no reasonable doubt that the last individual has died or known only to survive in cultivation, in captivity or as a naturalized population(s).

Another 8,811 are listed as Threatened, meaning they face a very high risk of extinction in the wild in the near future.

The list of such animals in danger goes on. However, this is only the tip of the ice berg...plants, other animal types not included in the above listing and fungi from around the world are also facing similar consequences, not reflected in the above statistics.

The Nonlife Zoo is an imaginary visual of our planet created to raise awareness of animal preservation in hope to improve our social responsibility to the environment.

The Nonlife Zoo series was inspired to reflect on our behavior and the impact on the intricate balance between nature and life on earth.

All animals are designed with human-like standing forms and unified expressions to remind us of their coexistence on this planet.
They all have cuddly and colorful appearances, yet with conflicting emotionless expressions, as if they are silently expressing their call for help.

Let the opening of this one and only “Zoo” bring life and hope to our future . We can all start contributing today to make a difference for tomorrow.
